Voting the RIGHT way.

Well, here we are in the United States looking at a Presidential election, once again, of who is the lesser evil. There is never that perfect candidate for any public office. If someone came along that fit exactly what I was looking for, I would question their honesty.

I imagine most people who have read my blog long enough know I am conservative. I put that as a lower case ‘c’ because I am very close to the line in many ways. No one party has all the right answers just as no one party has all the wrong ones. I believe people have a lot of rights and choices to make and I also believe for a great many of those choices the government should not be involved in nor should ever have been involved in.

I think candidates would be surprised at the support they would receive if they said exactly what they believed. I have voted by party in the past few elections because no one jumped out as a candidate I could get behind. The only one I’ve really liked always ends up having to drop out.

When faced with an election of voting for the lesser of evils . . . what do you do? Do you vote for an evil? Some may think my using the word evil is a bit strong, but if you sit down and look at what is good and what is bad, oops, some don’t like the word ‘bad’ either. There are bad things in the world. People do bad things. In a society in which certain things are taught as good or bad and the person chooses the bad, then they are doing bad.

By voting for the bad/evil, you are saying it’s okay to have an evil rule over you. People use the argument that they would rather have the more honest of the evils.

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? (Luke 16)

Trump or Clinton, who will it be? Neither is a good fit. Both have major problems. Some wonder how Trump is doing so well. It’s because he is being blunt and saying what so many people think. Of course he then says what a lot of people don’t think as well. If anyone needs a teleprompter, it’s Trump. The citizens if the United States are tired of politicians who do nothing and go by party politics. That’s where Trump is succeeding. He is not a politician and he is making sense.

I am not a Trump guy. That makes the coming election very difficult for me. I am not a Trump guy and definitely not a Clinton guy. Do I vote for the lesser of evils or do a write in?

16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. (Proverbs 6)

Some say writing in a candidate is throwing away your vote. I say by voting for exactly the best fit in all your categories, you are voting as you should. I didn’t vote for Trump in the primaries. He is not the person I selected to be my candidate for President. I did not for the electors of my state, thus, they do not represent my vote when they go to the convention to select the Republican candidate.

One thing that is influencing my vote is the number of celebrities that say if Trump becomes President they will leave the United States. Now there is a reason to vote Trump. I have a lot of thinking to do.

Need your help for some research. Survey.

I need your help. I have several different books in the works. One each in different genres. The help I need is you telling me what you, as a reader of my site, knowing what I do, having read my various pieces here, knowing who and what I am, what would you like to see in a book from me?

By filling out the form below, you will help me a great deal. I won’t be using this information for any other purpose than to help me determine what my readers want.

I’m hoping to receive enough feedback that I get a good idea of what my readers want.

Don’t worry, I’m not planning to customize a book for readers. That’s being a phony. I just have several books, perhaps a dozen, I can choose to focus on. I thought it would help me decide what to do next.

If you provide an e mail address, it will not be saved. It will only be used to ask for clarification if necessary.

Vacation Recovery Begins Now.

This past weekend and early part of the week was an impromptu vacation for me. It was the first time in 8 years I had been more than an hour and a half from my home.

I intentionally left my laptop and tablet behind. In their place I had a pad of paper and a pen. My phone was the only electronics I had on me and it was used to take some photos…

Beach Aquarium…and phone my parents upon arrival at the hotel. The hotel was great. I think it could’ve slept 10 adults or 5 of me. A Jacuzzi everywhere you looked on the ground floor around the pools. 6 pools, most of those were heated. Full kitchen. The last hotel at the end of the beach before residential areas, across from a golf course, and a yacht club, made for a very nice, quiet time. All at a very great price.

ResortWith that knowledge now in your hands, you may understand that I am a bit behind on some commitments. Maybe not behind according to agreements, but according to my own personal preference. Blogging will be sparse the coming week until I…

  • Read at least one book for Review. (I have several)
  • Proofread and edit a book for a friend of a friend.
  • Proofread and edit at least three articles for a friends business site.
  • Write a short story for a contest. (I’ve only entered one short story contest before and won it, by luck. Maybe this will happen again.)
  • And there is something else that I am forgetting but that nagging feeling at the back of my skull tells me it’s out there waiting to make its presence known.

I’ll be back in the saddle fully soon. Enjoy the challenges and the entries in the comments of each one. If you haven’t been visiting the short stories for the Friday Fiction challenges you are missing out.

Much Respect,

Ronovan

PS-You know I have a book. You know you can click the image in the side bar to go get it. The reviews have been great. 9 five stars and 2 four stars so far. I’ll take that for any book I write ever.

Stressed out

A good post to live by.

MEANINGS AND MUSINGS

Well I have been a little, and though my intellect, my mind tells me to chill, sometimes the emotions and the body react. I hope I am not alone when I say it is so easy, rather unthinkingly to take the stressed out emotions out on someone else.

That can happen, don’t flay yourself over it. I now watch this with a certain curiosity of ‘why’ and ‘how’. The intention is to pay attention to the triggers, to catch them before the emotions erupt, before relationships become strained, friendships threatened. And sometimes it may be simpler to identify our body’s reaction before recognizing our emotions, like the tense shoulders, the trembling heart, the shaking hands, the jiggling feet… so many of our emotions manifesting in our body if only we would ‘listen’. What does your body do when there is sadness, anger, fear… Perhaps the next time you feel compelled…

When I was in Prison.

Hugh's Weekly Photo ChallengeI don’t normally do Photography challenges. When I saw Hugh’s prompt this week I could not resist, and I waited until Thursday for it to be a throwback moment as well. Here I am, my yearbook photo from the University of Georgia. Stripes? If you have to ask where the stripes from Hugh’s prompt are in this photo then you are color blind and very fortunate. I still have this shirt 20+ years later.
